George Galloway met with Bashar al-Assad, dictator of Syria, in 2005 in Damascus, where he gave a speech. Galloway said:
"I was very impressed by his knowledge, by his sharpness, by his flexible mind. I was very, very impressed. [...] Syria is lucky to have Bashar al-Assad as her President."
That sycophantic speech sounds almost exactly the same as what he said about Saddam Hussein in 1994:
“Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability, and I want you to know that we are with you, hatta al-nasr, hatta al-nasr, hatta al-Quds [until victory, until victory, until Jerusalem].”
- Galloway to Saddam Hussein, January 19th, 1994
It is clear that Galloway and the Left are not at all against ‘oppression, mass murder and war’. It is obvious that they are only against these things if carried out by ‘Western capitalist’ countries and Israel. In other words, Galloway and the Left are not really against oppression, mass murder and war at all! They are actually against Western ‘capitalist democracy’ alone. And their ‘fight’ against supposed (Western) oppression, mass murder and war is but a strategy in their revolution against 'capitalist democracy'.
And what about this? -
‘I’m quite a fan of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who is adored by the common man and woman in Iran.’
- Yvonne Ridley, Founding Member, Respect
Again, Leftists and Islamists aren’t really against war and oppression – they are against 'Western capitalist war and oppression'. When Muslims with brown skin are oppressors and carry out wars, well, that’s fine and dandy according to the white, Leftist middle-class.
Don’t believe the Stop the War Coalition either when it says ‘stop the war’. They mean stop ‘Western capitalist wars’. Since the Left is racist, when brown people carry out wars, oppress their people and even when they are racist, that’s fine by them. Only white people can sin – especially if they are ‘capitalists’ or the non-Leftist working class.
All this is a perfect inversion of the ‘neo-colonialist mind-set’ they formerly fought against. And it's just as racist and just as prejudiced. Indeed it’s the same class. However, this time it’s the Leftist middle-class, rather than the right-wing middle-class, who are inverting negative racism and substituting it with positive racism. But racism is racism, even when positive or 'inverted'.
